ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla., July 2, 2019 – Carlisle Interconnect Technologies (CIT), a division of Carlisle Companies Incorporated (CSL), is pleased to announce that its Blackburn, United Kingdom facility received ISO 14001:2015 certification. The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) developed this certification to provide companies with a framework to improve their environmental performance.
ISO 14001 is the international standard that specifies requirements for an effective environmental management system (EMS) used to regulate environmental aspects, fulfill compliance obligations and address risks and opportunities. By using ISO 14001, CIT assures management, employees and stakeholders that its environmental footprint is continuously being monitored and improved.
The ISO certification recognizes CIT’s ongoing commitment to protecting the environment. It’s a commitment that stretches across all locations and reflects the company’s focus on continuous improvement for CIT’s business, customers and the environment.
To obtain ISO certification, CIT’s Blackburn, U.K. facility met rigorous and comprehensive requirements verifying that the facility has implemented formalized practices that protect the environment. These practices include energy management, waste reduction and other conservation efforts. The facility has also successfully implemented energy reduction initiatives to reduce its carbon footprint and overall energy costs.
