ST. AUGUSTINE, FL —January 10, 2019— Carlisle Interconnect Technologies (CarlisleIT), a division of Carlisle Companies (CSL), is pleased to welcome 22 tons of South African granite to our Franklin, Wisconsin facility.
This impressive rock sits on an air-cushioned suspension system to support a large format Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM). Able to accommodate inspection of workpieces weighing nearly seven tons, this large format CMM has a working envelope two meters wide, four meters long, and one meter tall with a travel rate of more than 400 mm per second. Deployment in a carefully climate-controlled, brightly lit, clean modern space assures rapid, accurate, and versatile inspection of complex machined products using either touch or visual probes.
This is just the latest addition to CarlisleIT’s aircraft structural machining and inspection capabilities. Currently, CarlisleIT has multi-axis CNC equipment able to handle single parts up to eight meters long or to micro-machine contacts and other very fine detail components to extreme precision. This equipment is deployed across our multiple manufacturing locations to support manufacture, finishing, and assembly of structures large and small in volumes tailored to our customer’s diverse needs.
