Surface mount millimeter-wave antenna enables gigabit connectivity for data-center, industrial, and automotive applications
San Jose, CA – January 30, 2019 – Maja Systems, as part of a successful collaboration with Carlisle Interconnect Technologies (CarlisleIT), announces live demonstrations of millimeter-wave connectivity technology, for data-center, industrial, and automotive applications, using the SPL-100 surface-mount millimeter-wave antenna.
CarlisleIT’s Signal Integrity team, working alongside the designers at Maja Systems, enjoyed the challenge of designing a high-performance interconnect both capable of supporting Maja’s vision for the SPL-100 antenna and ready for high volume production.
This compact antenna features many of the characteristics seen on planar arrays and horn antennas, at a fraction of the cost and area requirements. The SPL-100 antenna exhibits 10 dBi gain,10 GHz bandwidth, and is available in right- and left-handed circular polarization.
In the CarlisleIT booth, Maja Systems is demonstrating its AV-1 8.0 Gbps autonomous vehicle backhaul system and the IS-1 untethered 1.0 Gbps industrial interconnect, enabled by the SPL-100 antenna. Paired with Maja millimeter-wave CMOS technology, the SPL-100 enables ultra-high-density antenna arrays for wireless gigabit connectivity, addressing a variety of markets, including data-center, industrial, and automotive applications.
