St. Augustine, FL - Quality Requirements for Suppliers
MS-001 Rev. D
A. The supplier's quality system must comply at a minimum with all sections of the ISO 9001 standard unless an exception has been granted by the ISO 9100 certifying agency. CarlisleIT prefers that all supplier quality systems be certified to the AS9100 aerospace standard.
B. The supplier shall prepare and maintain a detailed description of the production processes, steps and controls applied to products currently produced and proposed for inclusion in the supplier's reliability program. The supplier shall demonstrate control of the key characteristics of their processes.
C. The supplier is responsible for performing or having performed all inspections and tests necessary to substantiate that the supplies or services conform to the specification and contract requirements.
1. Objective evidence of quality (test data sheets, raw material test data, chemical analysis, etc.) of such performance must be maintained for a minimum of ten (10) years.
2. All raw material certificates and/or test reports that are electronically submitted to Carlisle Interconnect Technologies shall be emailed to rec-insp@carlisleit.com only.
3. Suppliers shall provide all data in the English language only.
D. The supplier shall provide a corrective action response within 30 calendar days of receiving a Supplier Corrective Action Request (SCAR) from Carlisle Interconnect Technologies or as indicated in the SCAR document. SCAR’s may be issued for failures of supplier-furnished material or failures within their Quality Management System. When a containment action is required, the supplier shall respond within 24 hours with the status of the containment.
E. The supplier shall describe and maintain a failure recording and reporting system for material which has failed during qualification or quality conformance inspections or while in use in equipment.
F. No changes in approved materials, methods or plant location shall be made without notification to and prior approval from Carlisle Interconnect Technologies in writing. Requalification of the resultant revised material may be required by Carlisle Interconnect Technologies. Supplier shall advise Carlisle Interconnect Technologies in writing of any planned obsolescence to parts/materials supplied, preferably 12-24 months in advance of any planned obsolescence, and include a suggested alternative raw material and/or source for the affected parts/materials.
G. Qualification: A qualified product is a requirement. Initial qualification or requalification for material, process or location change shall be handled as follows:
1. All requests for qualification shall be directed to the Purchasing Department of Carlisle Interconnect Technologies. After receiving written authorization from Carlisle Interconnect Technologies, the supplier shall submit samples and data for qualification evaluation.
2. All suppliers submitting material for qualification must have adequate test facilities for testing in accordance with the specification. The adequacy of test facilities may be verified by a survey of such facilities by Carlisle Interconnect Technologies personnel.
H. Right of Entry: The supplier shall grant Carlisle Interconnect Technologies, customers of CarlisleIT, and any regulatory authorities’ access into all facilities involved in material production as well as access to all applicable records. This right includes periodic onsite assessment of conformance to the requirements in this document.
I. All suppliers, regardless of quality system certification, shall perform First Article Inspection per AS9102. First Article Inspection Reports must be provided upon request of Carlisle Interconnect Technologies. Sampling depends on material type:
1. Subassembly: Assembled articles require FAI for every CarlisleIT part number.
2. Bulk material: Homogeneous materials that come in different sizes require one FAI for a group under each CarlisleIT material specification.
J. The supplier shall provide notice of suspected escape of non-conforming material for any product that left the supplier facility en route to the Carlisle Interconnect Technologies facility as soon as the suspected or non-conforming condition is discovered.
K. CarlisleIT is obligated to report to customers on Substances of Very High Concern (SVHC) in end products. Suppliers must report SVHCs used in any raw material to CarlisleIT within 90 days of request. Addition of SVHC to articles or preparations previously reported must be approved in advance by CarlisleIT.
**The Quality Manager has control and release authority over this document.**
